We have been collecting and selling Besednice stones for a long time, and we still stop and look every time we pick one up. There is something about them that never gets ordinary. This piece weighs 12.73 grams and measures 55x27x11 mm. It has a nice elongated shape  comfortable in the hand, not too heavy, not too light. The 11mm thickness keeps it feeling real and solid rather than fragile. When you hold this stone you get a clear sense of what it is: something old, something foreign to this Earth, and something that will never be made again.
 
The green color on this one is exactly what you hope for from Besednice. Deep and rich in the body, warmer and more translucent near the edges. In natural light the interior opens up and glows in a way that photographs simply cannot capture. You have to see it in person to understand why people obsess over these stones. The hedgehog texture is the real story. Sharp glass spires cover the surface in tight, natural clusters. The grooves between them are clearly defined and run deep. It is the kind of surface that makes you want to turn the stone slowly and study it from every angle  and you will find something different each time. No two Besednice stones look exactly alike, and this one has a surface full of character.
 
The Besednice field was fully exhausted years ago. What is left exists only in collections like this one.
